Unlock Your Imagination

Smash different genres together. Dress the beggar as the king, the scientist as the beggar, and the king as the scientist. Make a mouse fall in love with chocolate mousse, and the fly play the violin, in an orchestra, in 2080.

Do what is not done.

Allow yourself. To. Let. Yourself. Go.

Five, ten, fifteen minutes of absolute brain-storm bliss before setting pen to paper!

Dancing pinheads, jammy leaves, frenzied gnomes and what have you!

Later, think of a purpose. Why not give a moth legs, make it trip over pebbles in ill-fitting shoes (not in a malicious, but an empathetic sort of way), to show children that it's important to learn to tie laces. The crazier, more imaginative, the image, the funnier, and more impactful the story.

And when you're stuck, ask yourself one question: why not?

Why not push it further? Why just one moth? Would it make a difference if there were five, or seven? How about a whole army? An army of moths in ill-fitting shoes... sounds good to me!

Actually, it sounds a lot better now. I wonder what the story behind them is...
